Digital Camera Basics:
Are you new to the
digital world, or maybe just want an overview of your
camera’s capabilities? If so, this class we will help you
understand the features of your point and shoot camera
better. We will introduce image quality settings, use of
the flash, file formats, white balance settings, why
knowing the difference between optical and digital zoom is
key to a high quality image, and some compositional tips.

Designed to get you off the auto setting, this class will
introduce you to the main features of your digital SLR
camera. Topics covered include exposure modes, white

explores some of the basics in greater detail, while

Lighting Techniques:

Zoo Workshop:
Our
most popular class! With the Henry Vilas Zoo as your
classroom you will be taught concepts that allow you to
use your camera’s capabilities more fully. We will discuss
items that include - controlling motion and depth of
field, obtaining correct exposure of your subject, when to
use manual focus, and much more. This is a very "hands on"
workshop, allowing you to apply the concepts discussed and
ask questions. So grab your camera and a lunch, and we’ll
see you at the zoo.
You will
need a digital SLR camera, or an advanced point and shoot
that allows you to control aperture and shutter.
